Spiritual Protection, why is it important? (Part 1)
One of the questions I am asked a lot is: “How can I protect myself against hauntings or negative energy?” I always give a suggestion of something I have used or suggest other means I have tried, or have been taught. Often, “Spirit” will step in and tell me things to suggest to some people. This is a few different methods I have used and have recommended for spiritual protection. I will be breaking this down into different entries.
First Why? Why is it important to protect yourself spiritually? First and foremost, it is very important to protect yourself for ease of mind. We need to feel safe in our homes and in our own skin. Second, everything around us has energy, and often there is a mixture of good and bad/light and dark that circles us continuously. We need to protect ourselves against things that will cause us unbalance and chaos.
Whatever method of Spiritual Protection you choose to use, you need to BELIEVE in that method without a shred of doubt! You need to BELIEVE in this with your whole being and existence-that you will be protected. PLEASE do not misunderstand me, I am not saying because you are wearing a crystal that makes it safe to dance in the middle of rush hour traffic. I am saying by using your common sense and believing in whatever source you choose to believe in, is the first way to protect yourself and your spiritual energy force.
My Spirit Guides
I recently wrote a lens Native American Spirit Guides Without a shred of doubt, I know I have many spirit guides that have helped me all of my life. I felt the safest when I was sitting in a tree; I knew my guides were with me when I was doing a lot of traveling. I KNOW without a doubt, that my Spirit Guides have helped to educate me and teach me ways to protect myself spiritually and emotionally. But it took me believing in them and being open to their lessons.
Spirit Guides come in all forms, The Trees, Animal Spirits, Relatives that have crossed over, Angels, God; the list is endless. But regardless, you have to BELIEVE that these Spirit Guides are with you to help. I know that does not explain; then why did I have to go through this or that, why is this horrible thing happening and nothing is stopping it? I do not have the answers. From my own experiences from my own journey, I have learned SO much from the experiences I have had. I have been able to speak to other people, sympathize with them and in some cases I have been able to help bring some kind of ease to their life. I know from my own experiences that there have been times; I am still not sure how I have survived some instances. The only way it has ever been able to make any sense to me is the help of my Spirit Guides.
Where do you find Spirit Guides?
Again, the only answer I can give is from own experiences. From very early childhood, when my grandmother told me I had Guardian Angels all around me to protect me I knew it had to be true because my Grandmother would not lie to me. As a young child I knew the “trees” were protecting me because I only felt safe when I was sitting high in a tree. I have always viewed things different in the world, and the only explanation I can ever come up with is the fact regardless of how anything is seen; only “We” ourselves knows what is happening within our own minds.
I have never felt a lone. I have always “sensed” others around me. When I was in my early twenties, and learned how to meditate to be attuned with what was around me, is when I started understanding Spirit Guides. I have had some come to me in dreams. I have meant some in Shamanic Journeys. I know without a doubt in my clan of Spirit Guides my grandmother stands with them and to be honest, I am sure I have some that I am not aware of yet because it may not be the right time.
Many times, people thinks it’s their imagination playing tricks on them when one of their Spirit Guides makes itself known. I have always said, if the Spirit Guides makes you feel safe, content and at peace (otherwise believing in what your intuition is saying) it must be a Spirit Guide.
Believing in your intuition is a big key factor here. Have you ever walked into a room and it felt good, except all of a sudden you notice an energy there that makes you feel down, sad or upset? That is a way of following your intuition; my first thought would be to shield myself against that person’s energy. My Spirit Guides would nudge me and say, red flag alert. How about when you are driving down the road singing to the tunes on the radio and all of a sudden you get this odd feeling in your stomach? My Spirit Guides say, RED FLAG Alert and within seconds I put a spiritual protective energy sphere around my car. Following your intuition is like a direct signal from your Spirit Guides that alarms you of something that you may want to take action against.
Do you have an Angel you are drawn too? Is your connection with God a part of your whole being? Yes, God can be a Spirit Guide too. Do you have a relative that meant the world to you? What about an animal that you are very drawn too? Do you do healing work and believe you have a spiritual being helping you to learn this technique? Everything around us holds symbols to help us on our journey. Meeting my Reiki Guide in meditation was one of my favorite experiences and I knew without a doubt it was not my imagination. I also understood that everything has timing so when my Reiki introduced their self to me, it was to help me understand why I have been able to do some kind of healing most of my life.
One of my Spirit Guides especially will place this “pine scent” in my whole space. When I smell this I know she is there to teach me something, or warn me against something.
So in Closing: A Spirit Guide is: a spiritual being that helps you, protects you, guides you through situations when you are confused. Spirit Guides make you feel at ease and feel safe. They give you an unexplainable comfort that makes you feel everything is okay and will be okay, even when it seems as if your world is crashing down around you.
You must believe in YOU-trust in YOU even during the days you are down, sad and confused. Understand, you are never completely alone.

I understand this so well, the need to trust yourself in all things is so important , listen to your own inner voice and listen carefully, your guardian guide or angel will come through.
It is hard at first to know how to differentiate between the you and their voice, but with practice and relaxation and opening up it does happen. sometimes by asking for a sign that it is truly them other times there is just a certainty in yourself.

Thank you for your comment. I looked at your link-This is exactly what I am going through, so I started feeding my yorkie a homemade food with organic vegetables and several good things. Today (he is 11 years old) and healthy and filled with energy! I took him off of dog food a month ago because I was afraid of losing him he was so sick!! So I said enough was enough and although it is a little time consumning, the food I make him is the same food I would eat. I would advise everyone to reasearch this subject.

Wonderful information shared here! One of my Spirit Guides is Sister Deer. She comes to me and let’s me know when I’m on the right path. She will stop me, walk in front of me and look me in the eyes. I can’t tell you the “peace” that comes over me. That is when I’ve made the right decision.
Recently, I was trying to decide about whether to take an opportunity presented to me…or not. I had about decided to take it even though I had qualms about it. I said to my husband, “It’s odd, Sister Deer has not come to me.” That troubled me so I still hesitated in contacting the person. The next day I realized something. Sister Deer HAD been coming to me! Every single day on my way to work I would see a deer laying dead on the road and it would trouble me. A new deer every day for a week (the length of time I had debated this). This day, not only did I see the deer at the side of the road but there was evidence that Coyotes had ravaged her body over the night. I wept and said a little prayer for her soul. And I realized…do not take this opportunity…they will devour you as the coyotes have! I made my decision right then! Guess who stopped me about 5 minutes down the road!!!!!

What an amazing experience when we experience things like this. So many times we will keep ourselves in a state of confusion, chaos and being unbalanced, when all a long the Animal Kingdom is giving us the answers. At first I use to question this a lot, then I realized that the lessons we learn through the unbalanced, confusion and chaoic energy is something else we needed to go through. That is like dragonfly coming to me, I know she is telling me something, but my spiritual ears are not hearing it or something. Lifes journey is just amazing to me!

Such an interesting post. I certainly do believe in spiritual guides but am not aware of particular animals. Maybe I need to be more open. I do have a strong intuitive sense of both negative and positive energy.
