The Paranormal Niche-Spiritual Protection Part 3
Protection Symbols
When it comes to using objects as spiritual protection, this is something that is symbolically done and has been since forever! An objective that carries some kind of Spiritual Recognition for you is considered to be a Protection Symbol. Take a look around you, your house and/or your vehicle. Do you have a Medicine Bag? Do you have a Crystal you wear all of the time or one you keep throughout your home? Do you carry herbs in your car in a Mojo Bag or Medicine Bag? Do you sleep with an Angel by your bed? Do you wear a charm around your neck that somehow makes you feel comfort, balanced and/or protected? ALL of these items are considered to be Protection Symbols.
A Protection Symbol is an object that makes you feel safe, it helps you to feel balanced, and it makes you feel everything is going to be okay. Spiritual Protection is having something around you that says, “Its okay to sleep, believe you are being protected and you will have peace of mind and be able to rest peacefully.”
It really does not matter what path you walk. I call myself Pagan, because honestly I do not believe there is a label to call the path I walk. I believe in what feels right for me. And no matter how different I may appear, the one thing remains true for me is the fact I follow my own path.
I believe I talk about something on my lens: My Italian Grandmother-Rose about something I keep next to my bed. It is figure of The Madonna with a Rosary wrapped around it. Why? Because it makes it feel close to my grandmother-so it gives me peace while I sleep. You will never catch me without a Celtic Knot or Witches Knot item on, because I believe in the protection it gives me. I also have a few tattoos that do the same thing for me. So I am going to list a few things that are used for protection, and a brief explanation for them. If you know of more, please feel free to list them in the comment section.
This is a picture I created to represent the Celtic Knot and/or it is called the “Witches Knot”.
The Witches knot is a common symbol in folk magic and is considered a symbol of protection against malevolent witchcraft. Many people back in the Middle Ages use to scratch the symbol over the doorways to their homes to protect their homes from evil/negativity entering it. The circle is one of the primary female symbols representing the sacred space.
I created this pentacle call it “The Journey” representing “Our journey begins one step at a time”.
The Pentacle or Pentagram: Is a standard symbol for witches. The four bottom points represent the four elements: (Earth, Air, Fire and Water) and the fifth point represents the Divine Spirit-All that Is. A pentagram is drawn at the beginning of a ritual to set a witches protection and positive power. If you do not have a physical pentagram, you can draw on in the air by using your index finger or athame. Many people will draw the pentagram differently either starting at the top point or the point to the left hand side, but the MOST important thing when drawing a pentagram is to make sure it is drawn in one complete motion and never stopped. For me, the pentacle represent protection from all of the Elements and from the Divine.
The Dream-catcher: Created by my husband 2007
Many people believe in the protection energy of the dream catcher. It is hung by the bed to help capture bad dreams before they can reach you. Symbolically speaking dream catchers are known to make you feel safe when you are in dream time. I found a great site that you may want to check out called: History of the Dream Catcher
Remember in The Paranormal Niche-Spiritual Protection Part 2 I mentioned the Medicine Bag-they are used for protection? For those that are familiar with the Shamanic Path, we are given a Shaman Stone-that are also used for protection. Sometimes when we are wearing a pendant with different crystals on it such as moonstone, rutalite, black tourmaline, jet, and many others we feel we are being protected. I written a couple of different lens on Crystals. Gifts from Mother Earth list several different stones on it. I have so many crystal around my home because I believe in their energy.
Many people will place a “Fish” on their car symbolizing their faith in Christianity or have Crosses hanging in their home. We have a cross in our home that I got for my husband several years ago that has the “Lord’s Prayer” on it.
There are many items to use for Spiritual Protection. The most important thing is that you believe in them, regardless of what anyone says. If something gives you piece of mind, and helps you to feel safe while you are sleeping, or traveling than what is the harm?
Envision yourself surrounded by a white light, see this shield as pure white energy of protection. Completely surround yourself in this light, feels its warmth, its comfort, become one with it. Now see a gold light surrounding the white light shielding the energy in place-Know that nothing can harm you, you are totally protected by the Divine Force that you believe in!

Don’t you think it’d be smart to consider carefully about this? That’s not to say you’re incorrect, but when you say things like this, it will upset some folk. And I wonder if you’ve given thought to the other side of your post.

Thank you for your comment. Actually, I did think carefully before posting this blog. I really do understand what you are saying, and I have to also consider the people who are searching for different ways to protect their self. I understand this post/blog may not be for everyone, I have gone to pages that was not for me either. But the fact remains, my intention with this blog is to help people who are searching for help. I do appreciate your comment, and I hope this helps you to understand a little better.

It all sounds good but how is everything related together?

All three sections are related to different methods of protecting yourself, spiritually. Many times, what works for one may not work for another. These are some different techniques that I have used, still use and I am asked often about it. So I divided this article up into three sections to highlight each thing separately. Hope this helps to answer your question.
